It has been a great pleasure over the last few weeks to have worked with award winning film maker Dave Young on a short documentary based on the photographs I have been taking during the coronavirus pandemic. The piece features 25 of my images and weaves around them the experience of a number of members of staff from the Royal Gwent Hospital, including ED nurse Cindy Sulit who was ventilated for 17 days on ICU with COVID-19, as they describe what it was like to live and work through the early months of the pandemic and discuss their fears and expectations for the next surge in cases this autumn. The result is a very powerful piece that makes a major contribution to the aim of this project, namely telling the stories of the "army of unknown and unrecognised people without whom we would not have coped."
